CAMBODIA TALES 2007 - JANUARY
My 2007 Cambodia Tales from my January trip have now been posted. More temples to uncover, meeting friends, making new ones and spending a month in Cambodia for the first time made it a memorable trip. The families who run the Dara Reang Sey Hotel in Phnom Penh and the Shadow of Angkor guesthouse in Siem Reap looked after me better than I could ever wish for and my friends gave me the best welcome ever - it was that sort of trip. I will add additional photos at the links below very soon.
Notes from Phnom Penh
Seeing friends in Battambang
Notes from Siem Reap
Unspoilt Preah Vihear
Quick return to Prasat Khna
Left to Right: Lee, Kim, Seng Hour, Davy and yours truly (looking a bit too bulky for my liking!) 24/01/07.
One of the happiest, but saddest nights of my whole trip was the leaving party for Kim, the daughter of the Shadow of Angkor guesthouse in Siem Reap, who has gone to study in Australia for the next four years. Her parents threw a wonderful party for her and everyone had a great time but the next day, it was tears all round, and I was no exception, as Kim took a big step towards what I believe will be a glittering future.
